more than 500 described species in thirteen familes.
They are commonly known as rays, but that term may
also be used specifically for batoids in the order
Rajiformes, the "true rays". |

| The Bengal Danio or Sind Danio (Danio devario) is a
subtropical fish belonging to the minnow family
(Cyprinidae). Originating in Pakistan, India, Nepal,
Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, this fish is sometimes
found in community tanks by fish-keeping hobbyists. It
grows to a maximum length of 4.0 inches (10.0 cm). |

| Black cod (Paranotothenia microlepidota) is a marine fish
with distribution ranging from New Zealand to
sub-antarctic seas. They have also been fished off the
Great Australian Bight, the Chilean coasts and off the
Falkland Islands. It is also known as the smallscaled cod. |

| The Black Ghost Knifefish (Apteronotus albifrons) is a
tropical fish belonging to the ghost knifefish family
(Apteronotidae). They originate in South America in the
Amazon Basin in Peru and from Venezuela through
Paraguay in the Paraná Rivers. They are sometimes
found in aquaria. The fish is all black except for a single
white ring on its tail. It moves mainly by undulating a long
fin on its underside. It will grow to a maximum length of
20 inches (50 cm centimeters). |

Black Ruby Barb

| The Black Ruby Barb (Barbus nigrofasciatus) is a tropical
fish belonging to the Barb family (Cyprinidae). Originating
from Sri Lanka in forested streams from the Kelani basin
to the Nilwala basin, they are found in streams on hills
around 1000 ft (300 m) in elevation. This fish is fairly
common in the fish keeping hobby. The fish will grow to
a maximum length of 2–3 inches (6–8 centimeters) with
the female being slightly longer than the male.

| The black tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) is a
freshwater fish of the characin family (family Characidae)
of order Characiformes. It is native to the Paraguay and
Guaporé River basins of southern Brazil, Argentina, and
Bolivia.
