Tiger Oscar Cichlid (1.5 - 2")
( Added:Tue Aug 28 2007)
|
| Cichlids are among the most popular freshwater aquarium fish because of their pleasing appearance, extroverted personalities and interesting behavior. They can learn to recognize their mate, as well as their owner. Cichlids come in a wide variety as there are over 1,200 species. The Tiger Oscar Cichlid is primarily chocolate in color with orange-red markings and a brightly colored eyespot located on the dorsal fin. Tiger Oscars tend to dig up plants so it may be best to have floating plants, or cover the roots of the plants with rocks. Oscar Cichlids should be kept with fish of similar size as they will eat smaller fish. |
